finished draft one
August 24, 2022
on saturday, mr. darcy and i went to the bakery for lattes and croissants. he left and i stayed behind to work. typically, i have a 1500 daily word count goal but i’ve been working extra hard to finish this current draft before we start our new homeschool year. i ended up writing over 9k words—literally my best writing day ever—especially since the words were not total garbage. like, i wrote 9k words that i actually wanted to keep, which brought me to the end of draft one of LOVE NOTES!! woo-hoo!
every story has a special place in the heart of its creator, but this story is extra special to me because it touches on some issues that are really important to me, like mental health, appreciating our military, and healing after being broken. it’s still a fun beach read, it just goes deeper than your typical romance novel.
the plan now is to get through my first revision [and deal with those blasted placeholders] before our first day back to school, after Labor Day. wish me luck!
p.s. I just moved over to this new space today!! how do you like it? <3
