library of second chances by savannah carlisle
As soon as I heard there was a Little Free Library in The Library of Second Chances, I couldn’t wait to read it, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
As someone who spends time every summer on the island that inspired the fictional town of Heron Isle, it felt like my vacation came early! Savannah Carlisle captured every detail perfectly—from the broken conch shell on the shoreline to the fudge cooling on a marble slab on Main Street to the Victorian architecture sprinkled around the island. By the end of the first chapter, the reader is transported to a quaint beach town full of quirky and lovable characters. This book made me even more anxious to sink my toes in the sand and with a good book in hand.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and it is done SO well here. I love the witty banter between Lucy and Logan and the way sparks fly between them, though neither of them will fully admit it. You’re going to love them. And if you’re a UF fan, you’ll give them bonus points for that—Go Gators!
The Library of Second Chances is a summer read every book lover is sure to enjoy!
Book Blurb:
Daily walks along the sparkling shoreline and chats with her best friend are part of bookstore owner Lucy Sullivan's slow-paced life. And that’s just how she likes to spend her time in the close-knit community of her picturesque village.
Lucy also adores maintaining the town’s Little Free Library. Those who leave a book there include notes to the next reader. And Lucy, herself, has gotten a few that have her smitten. Life couldn't be better in her quaint beach village with the sway of sea grass in the soft coastal breeze.
When she hears Logan Lancaster is brought in to solve the town’s budget deficit, Lucy isn’t at all excited about his vision for growth along the waterfront. To make matters worse, it's Lucy who's appointed to oppose Logan in a series of public forums for the planned expansion. The quaint life she's built for herself will never be the same.
They couldn’t be more opposite. Except for one tiny thing: unbeknownst to both of them, they’ve been swapping anonymous notes in the Little Free Library...
