the christmas letters by jenny hale

welcome to the second to last day of the blog tour for The Christmas Letters by Jenny Hale!

The Christmas Letters by Jenny Hale is my first christmas read of the season and, as per Hale books, it did not disappoint. she had me from the dedication this time which reads, “For the creatives who risk it all to make it happen.”

the story pulled me in from the very first chapter and i couldn’t put it down until i turned the last page. this may be my favorite of Jenny Hale’s books yet, though that’s a tough call to make!

part of what i really enjoyed were the female relationships in the story. similar to her book Butterfly Sisters, i love the relationship between not just Elizabeth and her mother, but also her grandmother, who passed away but who we get to meet in such a beautiful way—her Christmas letters to loved ones—and it really makes her feel as though she’s present in the story. we also see Elizabeth reunite with her childhood best friend, who is both spunky and adorable.

i’m always a sucker for the “girl leaves the big city to embrace her small town roots” trope, but another thing that always stands out in Hale’s novels are her settings. when i read Christmas at Fireside Cabins last year, i literally felt like i’d been to the place in real life and it left me with a sort of homesick feeling when it was done. mason’s ridge, tennessee had me feeling the same thing. watching the characters come to realize the things that are important in their lives makes me appreciate the things that are important to mine.

and if all that wasn’t enough, readers are sure to fall in love with the hunky and mysterious Paul Dawson. seriously, even if you read it just for him it’s worth it.

so if you’re looking for the perfect book to curl up with beneath a cozy blanket and hot cup of cocoa, look no further. i promise The Christmas Letters is it.

also, just a heads up—The Christmas Letters and Butterfly Sisters are both FREE on Kindle Unlimited right now!

From the USA Today bestselling author of Coming Home for Christmas, with over one million copies of her books sold, comes a heartwarming holiday story that’s perfect for fans of Sheila Roberts, Debbie Macomber, and Jill Shalvis.

Elizabeth Holloway's sparkling world comes crashing down around her when her boyfriend of seven years drops the bomb that he’s leaving her—at Christmas. In an attempt to piece her life back together, she suddenly finds herself seven hundred miles from her New York City home, trudging through the snow, back at her childhood farm in the Great Smoky Mountains.

And she isn’t expecting to meet visitor Paul Dawson with his dazzlingly blue eyes and warm smile, chipping away at her resolve to focus on figuring out who she is and what she really wants in life.

Just when she starts to think things are moving in the right direction, a stack of letters from Elizabeth’s grandmother will change everything she thought she knew about her family and cause a divide between her and Paul that she never saw coming.

Under the glitter of Christmas trees and bundles of mistletoe, Elizabeth uncovers more than she’d ever imagined. Will the Christmas letters strip her of everything she holds dear? Or will they be the biggest gift of the season?

A heartwarming holiday escape that will have you rushing to your loved ones this Christmas. If you enjoyed the Christmas movies based on Jenny’s books and are looking for more feel-good, small-town romance, look no further!
